Fire TV remote app for iPhone: setup guide
A compatible Fire TV must be reachable on the same home network. Select it in TVRemoteX and follow the Fire TV authorization instructions shown by the app; some connections require a debugging permission on the television. Approve only a connection you initiated on a trusted network. Exact support still depends on the TV model and software version; check the manual for your model if a step does not match.

Keep the TV awake, then select it in TVRemoteX
Leave the TV on its Home screen, open TVRemoteX, start discovery and choose the matching device name. Do not approve a request you did not initiate.
Approve only the Fire TV connection you started
Follow the Fire TV instructions shown in TVRemoteX. Approve the current request on the television; enable ADB debugging only if this setup explicitly calls for it, and use a trusted home network.

Pair only on a trusted home network. Remove old authorizations or disable developer/network-control settings when you no longer need them.
Verify control before relying on advanced features
Test Home, Back and one volume command first. Keyboard, app launch, wake and casting are separate capabilities and may not be exposed by the selected route.
